Wooliedales had their inception “in utero.” Like a new mother waiting for her child to be born, I wiled away the time sculpting needle felted wool Airedales waiting for my Airedale puppy to come into being.  She was born in Connecticut in 2001, the progeny of wonderful parents, Ch. Serendipity Airedales Eagle’s Wings and Ch. Greenfield’s Liza of Craigston, and came to live with us as Jesse...of the House of Usher.  She’s been the continuing inspiration for the needle felted Airedale sculptures as her personality and antics present countless new and different poses and expressions. Wooliedales, Etc. creations now have homes in 42 states and nine countries.

When we added another Airedale - Scuffer - to our household in 2002, he provided myriad additional antics and many more inspirations for my needle felting. Born in Virginia, he's the progeny of Kyna's Ready to Rumble and Coldstream's Jubilation. Since the beginning of my adventure with needle felting in 2001, I have sculpted more than 850 Woolies.

Who wouldn't find watching a Airedale's play inspirational? J
